Watch & Learn as we launch a 2-Front Attack on the Social Shopping Market.
How are we gonna do it, you may ask.
Simple – by adding enough value and incentive for enough players in this space (especially Shopify Merchants and Amazon Shoppers).
GOING NICHE AND EXPANDING
Based on some research, trial and error (i.e. getting punched in the stomach by the market), we eventually came to the conclusion that we would create a service that would enable shoppers to create product-related content around their purchases, and easily make commission on referrals.
But, if we want to get people blogging about their purchases, and earning commission on those purchases, where do we begin?
We could build out integrations for any of the popular eCommerce Platforms – Magento, Woo Commerce, Shopify, Amazon….
WHERE TO BEGIN?
Considering that as a Startup, we only have a limited amount of resources, we’ve started our quest with 2 Top Players – Shopify & Amazon.
We could have just as easily built out our first Merchant Integration for Woo Commerce, but sometimes, you just have to start somewhere and only look back after you’ve run at least 10 miles.
Hesitation & Fear & Regret can be real obstacles for the entrepreneur, but if you can find a way to enjoy the journey, you may also find a way to make the business sustainable.
ABOUT THE APPS
In this course, we’ll be running micro-measurable tests (using the Lean Startup Approach) on two currently-live Apps:
-
Social King: A Shopify App for Building Community on Shopify
-
Amazon Scraper King: A Chrome Extension for Sharing Your Amazon Shopping History
HOW MANY USERS DO THE APPS HAVE THUS FAR?
As of September 18, 2020:
Amazon Scraper King (Launched April 2020) (which has its own Udemy course on how to build the scraping part of it) is currently at 108 users (woohoo!)
Meanwhile, the Shopify Social King App (Launched August 2020) currently has 13 Shopify Merchants that have installed it – not a terrible start, all things considered.
TOOLS & METHODOLOGY FROM THE COURSE
We’ll be following the Lean Startup Methodology, based on the Best-Selling Book by Eric Ries
While trying to improve their rate of growth, we’ll be using popular tools like:
-
Google Analytics
-
Google Search Console
-
Metabase Data Visualization
-
Active Campaign Automated Email Marketing
-
Meet Alfred LinkedIn Automation
Google Analytics
For measuring user engagement with the Web Apps.
How much time are they spending on the site? How many pages does the average user visit?
Google Search Console
How is Google Indexing our pages? How many visitors came via Search Engines over the past 3 months?
Metabase Data Visualization
This is a great platform for any member of the team to extract user engagement data by interacting with the Database itself (no coding knowledge required).
I also have a YouTube series dedicated to setting up Metabase. Search YouTube for “Metabase Tutorial Elisha Kramer”
If you need help setting up Metabase, feel free to reach out.
Active Campaign Automated Email Marketing
Active Campaign allows us to create Marketing Campaigns for both of the real apps shown in the course, including the onboarding Marketing Campaign for this very app.
Meet Alfred LinkedIn Automation
LinkedIn is the number #1 database in the world of professionals.
Google Tag Manager
Google Tag Manager makes it simple to send the same conversion data to Facebook, Google Adwords, Google Analytics, or any other data source you’re currently using to track your analytics.
JavaScript can also be injected into any page with the Tag Manager Pixel installed. You can also insert Custom HTML and CSS into any page with Tag Manager.
That’s why, when setting up Tag Manager, you should really be careful about who you give access to.
